I would like to learn about the internal politics and dynamics of groups. Are there some websites or books that you know of. In particular: For example, let say, I know a group of Indians friends (at work or social group) - how does this group operate. (This sort of behavior is also similar in other ethnically based groups.) Why do people join such a group. Why do they give up their individuality. Why do they accept the group philosophy. Why do they do the things required even when they don't agree with it. Why are they always trying to put somebody down? What prevents them from leaving such a group. What do they gain by staying in such a group. How does information flow within and outside this group. How is hierarchy determined in such a group. How are individual tasks determined. How is loyalty determined in this group. How does one gain entry into such a closed group. How does one gain influence within the group. How are rules enforced within the group. How does this group protect its members from outside threats. How does it in turn take revenge against an external entity. A group like this seems very complex to me because I do not understand its workings. Examples of other types of groups - a group of friends, or a corporate team, or a military platoon, or a religious congregation, or a network of businessmen. I believe they have similar workings and characteristics. I would like to know the framework, structure and hierarchy of such tight knit groups and their strategies and tactics. Thanks for your consideration. Based on price I am hoping for a concrete and detailed answer. Hope my question is detailed enough.
