My Grandfather once mapped out our family tree in Arabic and I have been interested in knowing what it says on the base of the tree. Could someone please translate the base of the tree for me (the three sections in the base). I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Here's a link to the picture http://xs137.xs.to/xs137/09105/shihabi_family_tree570.jpg You can save the picture and zoom in larger in picture viewer if need be. Thanks again!

Hi kutibah, Just to let you know I've started translating this but am not sure about a few lines and am waiting for my daughter to take a look at it. I will have this done by tomorrow. Best regards, Rainbow

Hello kutibah, The following is the translation you have requested. Please note that there were some words where the writing was very difficult to read. Also the text in the last section is a poem and so I provided the literal translation into english. Prince Mansour son of Milhem son of Mansour son of Ali son of Ahmad son of Kasem son of Mohammad son of Aba Bikr son of Hussein son of Saad son of Karkamar son of Amer son of Najem son of Mounaffez (who moved with the Shahabiyyeens from Horan to Wadi El Teem) son of Amro son of Massoud son of Al Hassan son of Bashir son of Mohsen son of Massoud son of Omar son of Massoud son of Khaled son of Saeed son of Amer (a.k.a Al Mazraai) son of Qais son of Shahab son of Kasem son of Saad son of Malek (a.k.a Shahab) son of Hareth son of Hisham son of Al Mougheera son of Abdallah son of Omar son of Azzoum son of Yaktha son of Mara son of Kaeb (May the blessings and the peace of Allah be upon him (Mohammad))and with (Abi Bikir Al Sadeeq May God be gracious to him) son of Louay son of Ghaleb son of Fahed (a.k.a Kareeshan) son of Malek son of Aser son of Kanater son of Khozaa son of MAdraka son of Elias son of Modir son of Nizar son of Saad son of Adnan. This picture was taken from the original picture located at Dar El Omaraa Al Shahabiyyeen (The House of the Shahab Princes) in Hasbayyah and it contains the Muslim section residing in Wadi Al Teem from the honorable princes of Shahab/ January 31/ 1915 Here is the tree of the Glorious and the Proud and the Great And in its shadow the army of the Great has arrived And Adnan Al Zaki followed its origins And it increased its pride in the prophet Ibn Hashem I hope this is helpful. Best regards, Rainbow

I'm sorry but do you think you could possible look over this part: son of Mara son of Kaeb (May the blessings and the peace of Allah be upon him (Mohammad))and with (Abi Bikir Al Sadeeq May God be gracious to him) son of Louay son of Ghaleb Is this showing a direct lineage to the prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) or is it a side reference? Mainly because I've researched and found that there is a Muhammad Abi Bikir Al Sadiq who was the son of the first Sunni Caliph but this does not seem to be right because whoever traced the family tree back in 915 would not have said Peace be upon him to someone other than the Prophet Muhammad. Is how you translated it with the quotations accurate? It seems to be missing the "son of" like the rest of them do (it skips from son of Kaeb to a paranthesis with Muhammad then to son of Louay instead of having son of Muhammad). Thanks for all your help!

Actually never mind. I've done research and it turns out that the link to the prophet was with one of his daughters who married one of our grandfathers. Thanks for your help.

We've had a visitation from a ghost! This came up as Recent Activity '9 hours ago' but, as you can see, there is no sign of any activity since 11 March 2009. Very mysterious! Inshallah Probo

Hi Bryan, The "Recent Activity" was due to a spam comment that we deleted before you saw the page. Unfortunately, our "Special Software" doesn't always do the decent thing in this situation and return the page to the bottom of the pile.
