The pattern "Road to the White House" in the January 1938  edition of the
Farm Journal.

"The "Road to the White House" quilt block was 70 years old in 2008. It was
designed and named by the Farm Journal in January 1938."

A copy of the Farm Journal from January 1938 was auctioned off on eBay on
September 1, 2009 for $5.00.(check back often as a copy may be listed)

AbesBooks currently has a copy of the February 1938 Farm Journal. I know
it's of no use to you but you can check back very couple of weeks and see
if the January issue becomes available.

I haven't been able to locate another copy. Perhaps your local library has
