Where is the house used in the establishing shots on _The_King_of_Queens_ actaully located in real life? I live in Brooklyn, and the house looks awfully familiar. I rarely travel to Queens.
Thanks.

Dear Nelson,
Behind the scenes we researchers have been looking (I'm slightly restricted as it is not shown in the UK and so I have never seen it), However, Pinkfreud has found this on YouTube. Does the house appear in this sequence?

While Bobbie7 has found a suggestion that some of it may have been filmed on a set.
Again, does this give any clues as to which house you are referring to?

Hi. The house does not appear in the opening credits (though there is a shot of other outer-borough middle-class two-family/storey houses). It is usually shown when changing from another setting to their house. Although the scenes are no doubt done on a set. I'm pretty sure they shot an actual Brooklyn or Queens house for the "establishing shot".

I am almost never in Queens, so its none of those neighborhoods.
Of course, it's possible that some Queens houses would be identical to some Brooklyn houses, so the house I'm thinking of may look just like, but not actually be, the Heffernan house.

That should be a comma, not period, after "no doubt done on a set".

A similar question was raised on the official King of Queens website. No answer provided.

nelson,
I contacted the guy who actually scouted the locations for The King of Queens, and he very kindly emailed me back to let me know:
--locations were in both Brooklyn and Queens
--he doesn't remember specifically where the establishing shot you asked about came from, but he thinks perhaps it was in Woodhaven, Queens.
--It also might have been near the Verizon warehouse in Brooklyn, but again, not certain
--Other shots: the church is St. Francis DeSales in Rockaway (Queens NY), the Gym is Golds Gym on Woodhaven Blvd. across from a cemetery (Queens), the Bar he played softball is Coopers Ale House in Glendale (Queens) and the golf course is Keesna Golf (Queens)
I don't think I'll be able to hit the nail on the head for this question, though. But I hope this helps.

nelson,
I just wanted to be sure you had seen my earlier clarification (above). Does the Verizon warehouse neighborhood in Bklyn ring any bells?

I'm not sure where the Verizon "warehouse" is. Verizon does have numerous "central offices", but this is probably not what is meant.

Has anyone ever found out the address of the actual house used for the Heffernan house?

The King of Queens house is located at 519 Longview Avenue in Cliffside Park, New Jersey.
Here it is on Google Maps
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=519+Longview+Avenue,+Cliffside+Park,+New+Jersey&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x89c2f7b074071327:0xc3614e6d5f743219,519+Longview+Ave,+Cliffside+Park,+NJ+07010&gl=us&ei=6WiaUIjBJo3ciQKt_ICQCw&ved=0CDIQ8gEwAA
Here's the source of the information - and the story of how a blogger tracked down the address:

Hope this helps!

Well, here is the overview of the filming locations:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0165581/locations
There are several in Queens. Maybe one of the cities (?, Corona, Elmhurst, ...) is the area you know and rings a bell.
