TSA doesn't seem to mind the 4oz. saline bottles I carry.

Ankos714,

Have you tired ReNu Multi Plus 2 fl oz?
http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=195908&catid=59958

It doesn't mention if it's resealable though.

Hi, i am allergic to multi-purpose solution and can only use pure saline solution. While I appreciate the links, they will not work. Thanks

In regard to TSA, the need is mainly for ultra-light backpacking where I need to reduce my weight as much as possible. If you can link me to 4oz saline solution, it would certainly help...

It helps but I am looking for a smaller amount, if possible. If it's not out there, then this will have to do. Thanks

Can you find anything that is smaller than 4oz?

Ankos714,

I did do additional research and unfortunately I was unable to locate a smaller amount.

In your clarification you said "If you can link me to 4oz saline solution, it would certainly help..."  I understood that you would accept a 4 oz bottle.

In any case I will try once more and see if there is a smaller bottle available and if I find anything I will post it here.

Thank you for your patience.

Thanks. Yes, regardless, I will accept your answer. If you can just see if there is anything smaller, I would appreciate it.

I just weighed a pair of plain, ordinary crew socks and the result was 88 grams.

Since 2 ounces of water weigh appx 56.7 grams I have to ask, if ONLY for the sake of conversation, to what degree are you taking this "ultra-light" backpacking venture?

Inquiring minds want to know! :D

I have been wondering much the same:  how long an "ultra-light" backpacking trip could last to require 2, 3, ounces of saline solution for the contact lenses.  Wouldn't a couple of screw top or barrel cases with solution be adequate and light enough?

That's the whole point. I don't need as much as 2 to 3 ounces. However, everything I've read says that you should not transfer saline to another container because it will not remain sterile. The last thing I want is an eye infection in the middle of the Northern Cascade mountains in Washington. The trip is 4 days. Ultra-light is more of a backpacking philosophy... But trust me, when you are out there, every ounce counts. I even have sawed off my toothbrush! It isn't only weight, it is also space-saving too.

I found these as well but I do not think they are resealable. They are simply for first aid....
