I am looking to volunteer for a few months - 3 months to a year.
This can be within the US or internationally.
Where all food, rent and expenses are taken care of while I volunteer. Maybe even healthcare. This way I do not have to support myself - I only have to do volunteer work.
Religious organizations are fine too.
I work with computer software - but I am not particularly skilled in other areas.
I enjoy working with children.
Do you have a list of such opportunities?
If there are few organizations meeting the above criteria - are there some organizations where I can volunteer for a fixed fee with all expenses taken care of.
(I already know about Peace Corps)
I hope you understand the question and its intent.

I was with you until your line about volunteering for a "fixed fee". What do you mean by that? Are you expecting to pay a fee upfront, in order to volunteer?
Also, if you're younger than 21, can you let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for your comments.
I would prefer volunteering in Africa - I hope I will get used to the primitive conditions.
I could not find any free programs when I searched earlier.
I did a search over the internet. There are programs that are supposed to be Peace Corps alternatives. They offer volunteering opportunities around the world from a few weeks to a year or more. The is about a thousand dollars per month for everything included - except air fare and visa costs and discretionary costs. They offer opportunities such as volunteering at orphanages in Africa and around the world.
Thanks for your help.

This article provides a list of free or very cheap international volunteer/travel opportunities.
Does the article gave you the information you need?

The article does provide a lot of info and links, like I requested.
Any other info would be helpful too - such as the ratings/reviews of the organizations.

I think there are other lists like these one with a list of programs with description along side it but I don't think there are reviews or ratings.
Would a list like that one above be good even without the ratings or reviews?
