I am looking for a company that that test for Serine Protease activity.  We have a oil we need tested.  We are not interested in a kit to do the testing ourselves, we need a company that will test it for us.

Need company name, website and phone number.

Thank you.

I am not well-versed in this type of testing. Is this what you need?

The USP chromogenic method is based on the activation of a serine protease (coagulase) by the endotoxin, which is the rate-limiting step of the clotting cascade. The assay measures the activation of the serine protease as opposed to the end result of this activation, which is clotting. The natural substrate, coagulogen, is replaced by a chromogenic substrate. On cleavage of this substrate a chromophore is released from the chromogenic peptide and is measured by spectrophotometry.

The USP chromogenic method is quantitative and can provide a greater sensitivity over a wider range. The sensitivity of this assay is 0.10 EU/ml.

BioReliance CRO is an expert in both types of endotoxin tests and can provide you with advice on the best assay for your drug study or lot release needs.

No.  That is not it.  I just spoke with them and they do not do Serine Protease testing.

No, I ran this by Dr. Crutchfield and this won't work either because they are just testing for an antibody.

Please keep trying! I'm at my wits end!!

Are you looking to submit a cosmetic oil product to test for levels of serine protease? Is this company a possibility?

Hi.  Not ignoring you, just waiting on a response from UL.  Avomeen said they didn't.

Thanks again! Please don't give up!

From what I see, serine proteases are a category that include numerous discrete substances:

Serine Proteases

Is it possible that a test for a specific substance will meet your needs (several such lab tests exist) rather than a test for overall SP levels?
